A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
There existed Force-sensitive beings who wielded unimaginable power. This power gave them different abilities. One such ability is the ability to see into the future. One man, Anakin Skywalker has this ability and can see the deaths of the people he loves. These Force-wielding beings are trained not to love, in order to avoid making a wrong decision based on the selfishness of their love. Unfortunately, this man disobeys this very important rule and makes that mistake.
In secret, Anakin married Padmé Amidala and eventually got her pregnant. Anakin has a vision that Padmé dies during childbirth. He does not doubt this vision at all. He had a similar image about his mother dieing. He had gone to save her and, after finding her barely alive, she dies in his arms. Anakin seeks advice from his wisest mentor, Yoda, and he tells Anakin that he must “train himself to let go of everything he fears to lose.” Whether Anakin tried to or not, he wouldn’t be able to let Padmé go. Another of Anakin’s seemingly non-Force-wielding advisors/friends tells Anakin that he could help him. This man, Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor/head of this republic galaxy, reveals himself to be a Sith Lord, one who uses the Force for evil and personal gain. He tells Anakin that, together, they can use the Force to stop people from dieing. Anakin eventually takes this offer to save Padmé and travels down the path to the Dark Side of the Force. To save the one he loves, he gives up his teachings, he gives up his mentors, he gives up his friends, and he gives up the light.
To gain this power, he follows Palpatine’s teachings, and does his bidding. The Sith’s goal is to destroy all the Jedi, Force-wielders who use their powers for good, and gain control of the galaxy. He sends Anakin to kill many Jedi and many others who are key to Palpatine’s rise to power. This ultimately leads to a fierce battle between Anakin and his closest friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which ends in Anakin’s loss, leaving him in a critical state. While Anakin heals, Padmé give birth to twins. Even though Anakin helps Palpatine, he never learned how to stop death. Palpatine honestly wasn’t going to help Anakin learn such a power, Anakin was only his pawn. Just as shown in Anakin’s vision, Padmé dies right after she gives birth to her babies.
Anakin sacrificed his former life to save his wife, but he failed.
